Bunji Garlin Tops iTunes T&T Chart
Soca artiste Bunji Garlin has topped iTunes Trinidad only and not the entire world as is being reported. Yesterday Bunji Garlin music released a statement saying the artiste 2013 track “Differentology” was the second most downloaded song in the world. When asked about the “achievement” Bunji responded saying he was elated by the news adding that he felt as if it was his birthday.
He also said his team was trying to figure out if it was a specific category like a West Indian chart, but then he saw Maroon 5 on top and Rihanna in third and realised “Wait! This is the main chart”. As word spread many questioned if Garlin really conquered the iTunes world chart. This opened up discussions on social networking sites including facebook and Twitter and radio talk show hosts also added their thoughts.
However, today Bunji Garlin music sent another email titled: urgent correction: Bunji Garlin’s Differentology tops Trinidad iTunes charts. It says Trinidad and Tobago was added as its own iTunes territory…so anyone in the area logging on would see that Bunji’s Differentology at the top of iTunes in the Trinidad and Tobago territory and not the world.
