Rihanna Praised Childish Gambino For “Guava Island” Success

Rihanna heap some praises on Childish Gambino amidst the success of “Guava Island.”

By now most of you would’ve already seen Rihanna and Childish Gambino’s new film “Guava Island.” The Bajan pop star is now thanking and praising Donald Glover while calling him a “true gem to the culture.” That’s a bold statement that we can all agree. The move was premiered on Amazon Prime over Coachella weekend, and so far the reviews have been splendid. I’ve seen the film once already and planned to watch it a second time.

On Wednesday, Rihanna took to her Instagram to share a message for Gambino while thanking her followers for supporting the film “Guava Island.”

“wow! the response to #GuavaIsland has been quite overwhelming,” the pop singer wrote “So happy you guys felt the beauty in this film! @childishgambino you are a true gem to the culture. I’m so proud of you and the work you put into making this film. I felt how close this was to you and your entire team! Thank you for trusting me with this role! It was the greatest experience being in Cuba, phones off, present with life and art! It was humbling! I loved watching every second of it!”

Rihanna and Childish Gambino, real name Donald Glover, shot the movie in Cuba last year. They both kept the details under wraps, and we only knew about the production because some images were leaked out.
