Vybz Kartel Granted Leave To Appeal Murder Conviction

Incarcerated Dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel and his three co-accused in the 2011 murder of Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams were granted leave to appeal their conviction and sentence on Wednesday.

The self-proclaimed ‘Worl Boss,’ real name Adidja Palmer, Shawn ‘Shawn Storm’ Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St John can now be heard in the Court of Appeal as they seek to overturn the 2014 ruling.

Kartel is currently serving life and won’t be eligible for parole after 35 years. The sentencing of the ‘Fever’ hit marker came after a 65-day trial, the longest in Jamaica’s history.
